When designing this spacious family home, it was paramount to the clients that they have visual access from the kitchen to dining, living, alfresco, pool, and activity room, enabling them to keep an eye their young children.
They also requested a contemporary and understated appearance from the outside of the home. The entrance has been kept private by having a wall just beyond the front door.
When entering the foyer you are greeted by double storey glass windows, a feature stone wall with fireplace and t.v, all within a light and spacious living space.
The kitchen is behind the entry, and has visual access to the activity room, dining, living, alfresco, pool, and backyard. A large double storey void overlooks the living and dining, which futhermore creates light and space.
To provide shade for the pool, in particular over the children's shallow end, the pool is underneath the first floor slab. Together with this and the orientation of the pool, it is nicely shaded. A pool window to the underground cellar gives the room light and is a feature within it's own right. The pool also boasts a waterfall, which flows into the shallows.
The alfresco area overlooks the pool, and has a complete outdoor kitchen with woodfired pizza oven. This area can be completely enclosed by glass bi-folds and windows so it can be used all round.
