An exquisitely detailed pre-finished Equitone clad wall is a feature of this design. It extends the length of the space, creating a rational clean horizontal line that mirrors the crisp architecture of the dwelling. To soften the expanse of this solid built form, a complex long narrow highlight planter was introduced with cascading Ddichondra silver falls draping down the face. Beyond the wall a narrow hedge of bay trees was planted creating the illusion of depth and privacy from the neighbours. A stunningly sculptural pink frangipani was cut into the existing deck as a primary feature and produces beautiful reflections in the pool.

At the far end of the pool a retractable shade structure was installed over a raised poolside hangout. Climbing star jasmine was also incorporated as a green partition between an ‘elements’ timber screen which pool equipment store beyond. The result is a space that is activated and inviting and provides a stunning backdrop to the interior when not in use.
